And they have this obsession with Moriarty and Sherlock Holmes references, and while it was already present in previous episodes, here it is just freaking annyoing.
A complete stupidity of an episode, but still superior to the season 3 finale. I really hope season 4 is better than I remember.
I watched all of Sherlock season 3 today because I couldn't remember if I had seen it. Turns out I had seen all of it and it sucked twice.
Starts off well. Victorian setting is a wonderful idea and the numerous nods to other Sherlock episodes are cleverly weaved in.
The jaunty time jumps between periods factor into where fluidity of the narrative drive being lost, thus decreasing my enjoyment considerably.
The Abominable Bride, considered as part of the third season of the Sherlock series was directed by Douglas Mackinnon. I've been a fan of the series, although I think the first two seasons were far better than the third.
This film is probably my least favorite in the series considering it goes back to Victorean England which is a common element in the sherlock stories.
What made this series so special was that it was placed in modern times and that adaptation has worked marvels. The Abominable Bride loses points for returning to classic Sherlock settings.
I still enjoyed the fact that Morariarty was back for a few scenes considering Andrew Scott is brilliant as always.
Modern Sherlock retreats into his mind to solve an old unsolved case in the s as classic Sherlock in order to solve a modern case of similar circumstance.
Very fun and quite entertaining, but I still find this episode quite pointless. I do love Benedict Cumberbatch and Andrew Scott so no real complains for the extra screen time for them.

If it were all too normal and was still revealed to be happening in Sherlock's mind as he tries to figure out how Moriarty could still be alive, people would be complaining that it wasn't weird enough, you see what I mean.
I always found this one to be really odd. Although I'd say the concept works on paper, they just gave us a mess of an execution. I'll keep it short - the "Abominable Bride" case is pretty interesting.
